GoDaddy Registry Signs Contract to Be the Registry Operator for the .tv ccTLD

GoDaddy Registry is excited to announce that it has signed a contract with the Government of Tuvalu to become the new registry operator for the .tv country code top-level domain (ccTLD).

GoDaddy Registry was selected to be Tuvalu’s new registry operator in December of 2021, based on a highly competitive tender process designed to identify the provider that would best serve the needs of the Government and people of Tuvalu – and the global community of .tv registrants and users. The contract was officially memorialized in a ceremony held at the Dubai Expo 2020 on March 30th, 2022.

Over the course of more than two decades, the GoDaddy Registry team has successfully launched, managed and operated hundreds of top-level domains for clients, including ccTLDs like .us, .co and .in.

Now that the contract has been signed, the significant work of migrating the .tv namespace to GoDaddy Registry’s platform will commence. This includes extensive technical preparations and collaboration with government, industry and business stakeholders.

With the transition to GoDaddy Registry, the .tv domain extension will be poised for its next phase of global growth and impact.
