When GoDaddy Registry completed its acquisition of Neustar’s registry business in 2020, becoming the technical services provider for .CO, we knew we were taking the helm of a truly special top-level domain. From day one, our teams worked shoulder-to-shoulder to keep the namespace fast, secure, and always available for the entrepreneurs who rely on it.

From local ccTLD to global phenomenon 

• July 2010: .CO is re-launched in general availability to go beyond a local ccTLD and capture the imagination of companies and entrepreneurs globally. 100k DUMs registered in the first 10 minutes after opening.
• June 2011: .CO burst through the one-million-domain milestone less than a year after opening for worldwide registration.
• February 2012: .CO was featured in a Super Bowl commercial by GoDaddy followed by two more commercials in the subsequent years, making the first, and only time, a TLD has been featured in the big game.
• Today (2025): more than 3 million .CO domains are under management, spanning startups, side hustles, and major brands in over 200 countries.
